The first part of a major series examining how the cuts are affecting our towns and cities is to be published in the 7 March edition of The Big Issue in the North.

In it, journalist Helen Clifton goes to Goldthorpe, the South Yorkshire mining community that hadn’t completely recovered from previous recessions and cuts before it felt the brunt of the coalition’s policies.
