Street Noise is hitting the road with the Big Busk – raising money for Big Issue North Trust.

The Big Busk is a five-day event taking place across Manchester, Sheffield, Leeds, Liverpool and Preston, taking place during World Homelessness Week (9-13 October).

Thanks to a partnership with Skiddle, we’ve commandeered a modified double decker bus which opens out from the side and becomes a stage, and we’re spending a day in the centre of each city, hosting an array of new and established singers, musicians, bands, DJs and comedians.

The bus will be pulling up in city centre locations from 2pm to 7pm each day, with a mix of local artists and bigger names playing 25 minute slots throughout the afternoon and early evening. It’ll be non-ticketed, but with opportunities to donate to the trust around the bus – like a very glamourous charity busk!

The Big Busk is a non-ticketed event, and the public are free to come and watch. However, there will be a pay-what-you-feel approach taken, with the audience encouraged to donate to Big Issue North Trust (registered charity number 1056041) through cash, card or text payments on the day.

There will also be Big Issue North and Street Noise merchandise for sale, and a raffle of great music prizes – including signed merchandise and guest list places donated by The Courteeners.

Among the leading artists to perform is rising star of the UK music scene Tom Grennan. Tom will be on the bus from 6.30pm on Thursday, October 11 in Victoria Square, Leeds.

Other great artists confirmed to appear on the bus include Y.O.U.N.G, Rick Witter (DJ set), Aziz Ibrahim, and The Jade Assembly, plus many more. Alt-rock band Y.O.U.N.G are showing their support for Big Issue North in a major way – appearing in all five cities!

Over the past year, artists including Frank Turner, Clint Boon and Puppet Rebellion have played shows to raise funds for Big Issue North Trust, the charity that supports people who sell the magazine to change their lives for the better. Now, the Big Busk is set to be Street Noise’s biggest event yet.
