Festival Q&A: The Bootleg Beatles

Hero image

One of the best known and most reputable bands in the cover business, the Bootleg Beatles tell us why they’re hoping to bump into bootleg Brian Epstein at this year’s Grassington Festival (17 June-2 July).

What have you been up to since last summer?
We’ve been busy travelling the world doing various tours, including Denmark, Belgium and Spain, and our all important yearly December and March UK tours. A very hectic and exciting several few months.

How would you describe your sound and act?
We’d like to describe our performance as accurate, energetic, professional and most of all fun for all age groups. Hope to see you there.

What are you most looking forward to about playing at Grassington Festival?
We’re looking forward to performing to and with a great crowd at Grassington, hoping to get everyone involved so it’s a fantastic show for band and crowd together. Maybe the odd hamburger too.

Who would you most like to see at Grassington?
We’d most like to see bootleg Brian Epstein, because he’s got all our money!

If you could curate your own festival what would the line-up look like with artists dead or alive?
John Lennon, Jimi Hendrix, Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, and as compere the beautiful Audrey Hepburn. Game, set and match!

What’s your best festival memory?
Our best festival memory would be going head to head with the Rolling Stones at Glastonbury. They won the biggest crowd but only by a few hundred thousand.

Apart from music, what should the ideal festival have?
Sinks and bogs and toilet roll.
